President of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation Hon. Daniel Igali has revealed that though the impact of the Coronavirus has curtailed the activities of the Wrestling Federation, they have been able to come up with a technical response to manage the situation and ensure that athletes do not get completely out of shape while the situation subsists.

Igali revealed in a chat gathered by  brila.net that wrestlers and coaches have been briefed on the type of training to embark on this period with particular emphasis on avoiding the mats and avoiding physical contact.
He stressed that wrestlers should carry on with their physical conditioning training and other related training alike.
“Our activities have been curtailed by the Coronavirus but we’ve told athletes to stay active., staying active does not mean that we have to be on the mat.
We’ve tried avoiding physical one on one contact, that until further notice we don’t train on the mat. All the coaches around the country have been briefed.”
