Super Eagles defender, Bright Osayi has expressed his eagerness to prove his abilities in Nigeria’s final AFCON qualifier against Rwanda, on Monday.

While Nigeria has already secured their place in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, the team aims to end their qualifying campaign on a high note in Uyo, where they will face Rwanda.

Although Nigeria is already through, Rwanda still has a chance to leapfrog Benin and qualify for the tournament with a win, making this match crucial for them.

With Ola Aina returning to England due to personal reasons, Fenerbahçe defender Bright Osayi is expected to start for the Super Eagles in Monday’s fixture under interim coach Austin Eguavoen.

In an interview with Brila.net, Osayi spoke about the importance of not underestimating Rwanda, especially as they fight for their chance to qualify.

“Nowadays, the teams in Africa have all improved. Because we are playing at home we want to win and we know how important the game is to our fans in Nigeria,” he said.

“Rwanda could still qualify so they will want to beat us and we can’t let that happen.”
