Nigerian Table tennis star, Aruna Quadri speaks on his motivation after he reclaimed his African throne in Kigali.

Quadri emerged winner of the 2024 ITTF African Cup after defeating Mohammed El Beiali in straights sets.

 

 

“I do a lot of physical training,” He told Brila FM’s Big Interview. “I don’t practice table tennis like when I was 20-30, like five hours a day.”

“These days, I only practice two hours but I use a lot of time now in gym. So with these things I keep going and going.”

Quadri highlighted his background and his injury struggles, but he never gave up and that win was a crowning of his efforts all along.

In 2017, as an emerging star he won his maiden African Cup, but lost three consecutive finals in the competition before Sunday’s triumph.

Aruna Quadri dedicated this as a confidence booster going into the Olympics.
