Former Super Eagles and Wolverhampton Wanderers of England player, Seyi Olofinjana has charged Nigerian players to ensure they do all they can to seal moves to clubs in the EPL as well as other top clubs in Europe, stating that this will go a long way in helping the country’s football.
Olofinjana, who also lined out for Some City during his active playing days also added while speaking with brila.net that it would surely be a good thing to see Nigerian players feature more often in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League tournaments, which he says will help the country start making big steps in top-level national team football.
“The more top players we have in the EPL and in other top leagues in Europe, the better it is for us in the country such that we can start making big steps again in our football”.
‘We have been lagging behind for some years now, good players but cannot play in big clubs”.
“They need to play regularly in the Champions League as well as the Europa League, and get the required education, things will surely be great”.
