Super Eagles Chief Coach Emmanuel Amuneke has revealed he’s yet to sign a contract with the Nigeria Football Federation.
The former Barcelona and CAF African Footballer of the year winner made the disclosure in a chat with www.brila.net on Monday.
Recall that the FIFA U17 World winner was drafted to the Super Eagles technical crew in February, following the exit of the team at the last African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
The former U-20 national team Head Coach, will assist interim boss Austin Eguavoen and the mandate given to them is to qualify Nigeria for the World Cup.
Asked about the details of his contractual agreement with the NFF, Amuneke said :
“Discussion is on going about the contract and very soon it will be concluded.”
“We are working on it and that’s all I can say .” Amuneke told www.brila.net.
On if he’s aware of the Super Eagles 30 man provisional list released by the NFF for the forthcoming FIFA World Cup qualifier against Ghana, The former Taifa boss said:
“There are some certain things that aren’t for public consumption and it’s better we just focus on our preparations for the game against Ghana.
“Lets just move forward, the most important thing is to be at the World Cup and let’s channel our energy into that .” He said .
Amuneke is expected to be on the bench when Super Eagles lock onwith Ghana for a place in Qatar 2022 later this month .
The first leg of the is billed for Cape. Coast in Ghana, while the second leg has been scheduled for Abuja.
