Idah Peterside ended his career in the South African league.

After retirement, Peterside transitioned into a new career as a television punditry shortly after hanging up his boots. He was also the first Nigerian football pundit on DSTV.

The former BCC Lions and Enyimba FC goalkeeper also founded a church, dedicating his time to evangelism.

It was during this significant period of transition in his life that his first wife left, leaving Peterside to face profound emotional anguish.

The former Nigeria international has since remarried.

“I almost killed myself after my ex-wife left me, the shame was too much. I had just started a church and was just starting on SuperSport,” Peterside wrote on X.

“Only God saw me through. I look back today and am very grateful to God.”
