Cyriel Dessers says it’s a dream come true to get a call up into the Super Eagles and can’t wait to play in front of the Nigerian crowd.
Despite being eligible for Belgium, Dessers opted to play for Nigeria and was in line to make is debut against Sierra Leone in March but the game was postponed due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
The 25 year is now back in the team for upcoming friendly matches against the Desert Foxes of Algeria and the Catarge Eagles of Tunisia slated for Friday and Monday.
In a video posted on Super Eagles’ social media handle, The KRC Genk of Belgium forward said, he’s looking to playing in the colors of Nigeria.
“I’m happy to be here, it’s my call up to the Super Eagles, it’s a dream come true and I can’t wait to play my first game for the country and also meet the fans. I hope to see you soon.” Dessers said.
Dessers was born in Belgium to a Belgian father and a Nigerian mother.
