Hughley Otis readies D’Tigress for AfroBasket title defence

D’Tigress Head Coach Hughley Otis worked a miracle in Spain, at the 2018 FIFA Women’s World Cup; so he has been asked to do it again – prepare a championship winning side in less than two weeks.

Otis invited 15 players – all foreign based – for camping in Lagos ahead of next month’s Women’s AfroBasket Championship in Senegal.

 

Nigeria won the last edition of the competition and will hope to become only the second Country to win four or more titles – on Senegal have more (11 titles).

 

In a statement released by the NBBF, Otis is expected to arrive Lagos Thursday and he will be assisted by former D’Tigress player Ndidi Madu.

Adaora Elonu, Jasmine Nwajei, Elo Edeferioka, Promise Amukamara, Theresa Onwuka, Aisha Balarabe, Sarah Imovhioh, Ezinne Kalu, Victoria Macaulay, Ifunaya Ibekwe, Kunaiyi Pallas Akpannah, Atonye Nyingifa, Sarah Ogoke, Evelyn Akhator, Elizabeth Balogun.

The 2019 FIBA Afrobasket is scheduled to hold between 9th and 18th of August.
