Victor Boniface and Union Saint-Gilloise campaign ended in disappointing manner, after missing out on the Belgian Jupiler league title.
Union Saint-Gilloise had their destiny in their hand as a win against Club Brugge would be enough to win the title, irrespective of outcome of the between Genk and Royale Antwerp.
Boniface and his teammates however failed to get the job done, losing 3-1 to their visitors.
Union Saint-Gilloise drew the first blood with a Simon Adingra’s 46th minutes goal assisted by Boniface.
The strike out them to the top of the table and on the bring of title, but they agonizingly collapse in the second half, conceding three goals against their visitors.
The result ensured Royale Antwerp win the title, after playing 2-2 draw with KRC Genk.
Boniface however ended the campaign with 10 goals and eight assists in the league, earning the team, a spot in the UEFA EuropaLeague playoffs for next season.
