Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Sports, Kabiru Amadu has called on the NFF to provide a detailed and transparent explanation regarding two FIFA-funded stadium projects in Kebbi and Delta States.
Amadu expressed concern over the disparity in visibility between the two initiatives.
While the project in Birnin Kebbi has recently gained significant public attention , the stadium development in Ugborodo remains largely unknown.
“Definitely, the NFF has a case to answer because the money was released to them by FIFA, and they were the ones who recommended the contractors for the two projects,” Amadu stated.
“So far, we have only seen the Kebbi State project trending on social media, while the one in Ugborodo, Delta State, remains unseen.
“The NFF must come out clearly and explain the two stadiums, the grants, the contractors, and the progress of the other stadium.”
Amadu emphasized the need for full disclosure, including the exact amount of funding received from FIFA, the identities of the contractors involved.
The projects, initiated under FIFA’s Forward Programme, were intended to enhance grassroots football development in Nigeria.
However, the lack of balanced reporting and updates on the Delta State facility has fueled concerns about accountability.

Meanwhile, the House unanimously adopted a motion of urgent public importance, resolving to establish a special ad-hoc investigative committee to probe the NFF’s handling of FIFA and CAF development grants.
The motion cited alleged mismanagement and a lack of tangible outcomes from the funds, summoning NFF officials — including President Ibrahim Gusau and General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi.
This development ties into broader concerns over football infrastructure and the management of international grants, including the recent scrutiny surrounding the stadium projects.
