Bayer Leverkusen secured a 2-1 victory against FC Heidenheim in a thrilling Bundesliga encounter on Saturday, with Nathan Tella making a notable contribution.

Tella entered the fray as a substitute for Jeremie Frimpong in the 88th minute, and imparted the Leverkusen attack.

This season, the Nigerian has scored four goals and registered one assist in his 12 appearances.

The match saw Frimpong break the deadlock for Leverkusen just before half time, slotting home in the 45th minute.

Leverkusen extended their lead in the 81st minute, courtesy of a clinical finish from Amine Adli.

Despite a late goal from Tim Kleindienst in the 87th minute for Heidenheim, Leverkusen managed to hold on to their lead and secure all three points.

This victory sees Leverkusen maintain an impressive unbeaten streak, matching Bayern Munich’s 32-game run without defeat.
