Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has heaped praises on Odion Ighalo after the Nigerian scored his fifth goal of the season for the club on Saturday.
Ighalo netted the opener for United as they labor to a 2 – 1 win over Norwich City to book their place in the English FA Cup semi-final at Carrow road.
Ighalo gave United the lead inside opening five minutes of the encounter when he jabbed the ball over the Tim Krul in goal for Norwich.
The former Nigeria international has now scored five goals on his four starts for the club, a feat Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is proud of.
“Odion knows how much we value him in and around the dressing room and, of course, on the pitch,” Solskjaer said.
“He’s a goalscorer and a poacher, he’s strong and we can play the ball into him as we did on the winning goal.”
“He’s performing well and that also gives me the chance to rotate with Marcus [Rashford], Anthony [Martial], and Mason [Greenwood] so they can get a rest and be fresh for every game”. Solskjaer said.
Meanwhile, all Ighalo has come in cup competitions as the former Watford, Udinese and Granada man is yet to find the back of the net in the premier league.
