Super Eagles striker, Henry Onyekuru’s recovery from a ligament injury is on schedule as he resumed light training session.
Onyekuru, who is on loan to RSC Anderlecht from Everton shared a 19 second video of himself dribbling cones and jogging as he steps up his recovery.
The timeline for his return from the knee injury (medial collateral ligament) was initially put at 4 months after surgery, but the with a second opinion form Everton doctors, it turned out the player didn’t need any surgery and his recovery has also gone without a hitch.
He picked up the injury playing in the Jupiler League against his former side KAS Eupen on 22 December.
The 20-year-old tweeted: I am so grateful to be able to be back running and back with the ball at my feet. Its been a journey, Thank you all for your prayers and support! The Lord is truely my strength! 🙏🏾 [sic]

He could miss out of the Belgian Jupiler League Championship Play-off but Onyekuru’s chances of vying for a place in the Super Eagles squad for the world cup is still a likelihood.
