Katsina United handler, Henry Makinwa is pleased with his team performance in their 1-0 victory against Nasarawa United in one of the NPFL match-day three fixtures played on Sunday.
The ‘Changi Boys’ who started the game the better side picked up their first win of the season in a keenly contested game at the 35,000 capacity Muhammadu Dikko Stadium.
Tasiu Lawal’s 64th minute strike from twelve yards proved the difference against the Solid Miners after Danladi Umar had earlier denied the striker from a similar scenario in the 40th minute.
However, the former Abia Warriors manager Makinwa in a chat with brila.net expressed his delight as his team picked up their first three points of the season against their neighbours.
“Its a great feeling after picking after picking the maximum points against a tough opponents like Nasarawa United. I feel very delighted.”
“I expected my boys to score more than three goals but the three points is more important to us”
“Kudos to my players, they did what they have to do and in the end we have finally won our first home match of the season”
“Gambo Muhammed was very instrumental in this match. The attack line did very well compare to the last match,” he concluded.
The win moved the Changi Boys to 10th on the NPFL log with four points after three games and will travel to Uyo for their match-day four fixture to play against Akwa United.
