Hellas Verona have shown interest in Nigeria’s Southampton midfielder Joe Aribo.
Aribo’s time at Southampton has been challenging, with reduced playing time and a relegation to the Championship.
According to a UK media outfit, Football Insider, Serie A side Hellas Verona are believed to be targeting the player.
The report states that Verona are interested in signing the versatile player on a loan with an option to buy next summer.
Verona could provide the player a new opportunity for him in Serie A after playing just eight minutes of football this season with Southampton.
Meanwhile, it is understood that Aribo will fancy the chance of relaunching his career away from St. Mary’s, but a decision over the player’s wages could be a sticking point in the negotiations with Southampton.
Aribo only joined Southampton in the summer of 2022 after they triggered the £10m release clause in his Rangers contract.
Prior to joining Southampton, the former Charlton Athletic midfielder had a successful stint at Rangers, contributing significantly to the Gers title haul over two seasons.
