Heartland FC team manager, Victor Onwuzurike says the team’s relegation to the NNL was an eye opener and believes the Club will avoid a recurrence of that happening again.

In the 2022 season, Heartland were relegated from top flight football. But, they quickly bounced back gaining promotion to the Nigeria Premier League for next season.

The team went unbeaten in the NNL on their way to hoisting the league title.

Onwuzurike told BRL that, “We missed playing in the Nigeria Premier League; where we belong.

“We will ensure that we avoid complacency so as not face relegation again, especially now that we’ll be getting more funding for the team.”
