Manchester United Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has described Odion Ighalo as more than an option for the team and is considered as an important member of the squad.
Ighalo who joined Manchester United on loan in the January transfer window, was a deadline day signing and the third of the Winter transfer window for Solskjaer.
The 30 year-old Nigerian is expected to offer the Manager an extra option up front in the absence of Marcus Rashford, who has been ruled out with a long term injury.
After making his debut in the premier league against Chelsea, the new signing could be offered more game time when Man United face Club Brugge in the Europa League on Thursday.
Addressing the situation of Ighalo in his plans for the remainder of the season, Solskjaer, fielding questions in the pre-match presser described the quality his new signing bring to the side.
“Well for me Odion is a different type of striker for us. He’s a box striker, He’s a goal scorer we’ve already seen in training,” said the Reds Manager.
“He really knows his craft. He knows how to play as a center forward and he’s a fantastic professional and human being. And He has already added to the squad, the boys have learnt his song and taken to him.

“So, I hope he’s going to chop it up quickly because we know he’s been out of season and he needs to do a little bit extra after training most of the time we try to give him as much game time as possible.
“Unfortunately he didn’t score against Chelsea had a good chance that would have been a good start, but am sure he’ll take his chances.”
