Harry Kane was seen shaking his head towards the touchline as he sat on the ground following the 1-0 defeat to Manchester United at Wembley and he was subsequently helped from the pitch.
The Tottenham striker had been injured as he tussled with Phil Jones and Victor Lindelof in the final minute of the tie and scans have revealed he damaged ligaments in his left ankle.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino voiced his concern over the possibility of being without the striker and his worst fears have been confirmed with Kane not expected to return to training until early March.
Kane will miss Tottenham’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Chelsea, as well as a possible final appearance on February 24, while he is likely to be unavailable for both legs of the Champions League last-16 tie against Borussia Dortmund.
