South African Striker, Tokelo Rantie has suggested the Nigerian team that lost to Bafana Bafana on Saturday were over confident and carried a sense of entitlement.
Rantie, 26, scored the first goal in South Africa’s 2-0 win against the Eagles in Uyo.
He said, ‘I know some of the Nigerian players. I’ve played with and against them before. Nigerian players are good, big, strong and talented, but they are also slow.
‘We only needed to capitalize on their weakness and play to our strength.
‘We’ve waited a long time for that win and came with the determination to win the game. I saw in the Nigerians, players who were arrogant and carried the pride of the clubs and league they play.
‘We know Nigeria is a country with big history in football, but this new team must create their own.’
