2023 Africa Nations Cup winner, Sebastien Haller came off the bench late in the second half of the UEFA Champions League final for Borussia Dortmund, but the Ivorian could not help his side avoid a defeat to Real Madrid.

Real Madrid secured their 15th UCL title after a 2-0 victory against Dortmund at the New Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Haller was a introduced with twenty minutes left to play and a goal down against the Spanish Champions.

Dani Carvajal broke the deadlock Twenty-eight minutes after the restart, from a well placed header beating the Dortmund goalkeeper and defenders.

Meanwhile, Dortmund missed several chances in the first half and a couple fell to Karim Adeyemi who would later rue his misses.

The 22 year-old was subbed off in the 72nd minute for Marco Reus, who played his final game for the club.

But Real Madrid were not done and in the 83rd minute, Vinicius Junior profited off a miscued pass, was teed up to finesse his shot into the net for his side’s second and the final seal.
