Guinea-Bissau condemn Nigeria to Fourth Consecutive defeat

Nigeria suffered a shock defeat to Guinea Bissau in their third game of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The three-time African Champions were beaten 1-0 by the Guinea-Bissau at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Friday.
Jose Peseiro’s side came into the game, hoping to record their third win after beating Sierra Leone as well as Sao Tome and Principe in the first two games, but met a well oiled Opponent, who clipped their wings.
Mama Baldé, who plies his trade in the French Ligue 1, made the difference when he scored the winning goal in the 30th minute.
With the victory Guinea-Bissau avenged their defeat to Nigeria the last Nations Cup in Cameroon, and For the first time in history, the Nigerians have lost four consecutive games.
Following the win Guinea-Bissau leapfrogged Nigeria to first place on the table, and have the momentum heading into the return fixture on March 27.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the AFCON tournament holding in Ivory Coast next year.
