Nigerian duo Kenneth Omeruo and Chidozie Awaziem were monsters in the defence for the Leganes on Saturday night, but their best efforts couldn’t help the Madrid side avoid a defeat to Granada CF.
Spanish midfielder Antonio Puertas scored the only goal of the match as Granada continued their impressive run in the early weeks of the Liga season.
Omeruo scored a 6.8 rating for Leganes, per whoscored.com; the highest by any player in the team’s back line.
His compatriot and teammate, Awaziem, also had a busy night. The duo made three successful tackles each, while Omeruo was one of only three players to win five aerial battle in the game.
The duo played all 90 minutes and also both got booked, but the defeat worsened their season’s record.
Leganes is the only side without a win so far and are bottom of the log.
Meanwhile, Granada Midfielder Ramon Azeez started and was on for 60 minutes before he was replaced.
