Nigeria midfielder Ramon Azeez has been praised by his Granada teammate Domingos Duarte for his impressive display in the Spanish topflight this season.
Azeez has had a good start to the season for Granada and as a result of that he was invited by Super Eagles coach Gernort Rohr for last month’s international friendly against Brazil, and Nigeria’s 2021 AFCON qualifying matches against Benin and Lesotho.
The 26-year old who suffered a bad spell in Almeria in his early days in Spain, has experienced a resurgence at Granada this season playing eleven times, scoring twice including the one he netted against Barcelona back in September.
However, the Nasrids defender Duarte described the Nigeria midfielder a fantastic player and an important player for the Andalusians.
“Ramon is playing very well for us, he is a fantastic guy with best qualities,”
“He has good qualities, and I would describe him as a box-to-box midfielder.”
“He gives everything for the team, offensively and defensively,” he added. He’s the guy that you want to have in all the games.”
“He has the quality to find a pass, to defend, and he’s a ball carrier,” the defender concluded. “He can score goals too, and that’s one of his qualities.”
“He’s already scored goals for us.”
Azeez was named in the squad for Wednesday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifying victory over Benin and could play a part as the Super Eagles prepare to take on Lesotho in Maseru on Sunday.
