Substitute Alex Aghahowa Otakho was on hand to rescue Lobi Stars as the 2018 NPFL champions secured a hard fought 1-0 won against Cynosure FC in a pre season tournament.

Otakho converted a 71st spot kick to hand coach Gbenga Ogunbote side all three maximum points.

In other games, Lagos based MFM FC were beaten 1-0 by Delta force FC, while Bendel Insurance defeated Remo Stars 2-0.

The tournament continues today with Delta Force taking on Abia Warriors while Niger Tornadoes will play Rivers United.

Late kick-off will see Cynosure FC battle Kwara United with all games scheduled for the Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba Delta State.
