The Golden Eaglets have commenced preparations for the upcoming 2024 WAFU B U-17 Championship.
A total of fifty-one players have been called up to the Eaglets’ open training camp taking place in Abuja.
Manu Garba was confirmed as the head coach of the team by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) last week.
As the team gears up for the tournament, the squad is expected to be trimmed down to a final list before the competition kicks off.
The WAFU B U-17 Championship is set to begin on May 17 and will be hosted by Ghana.
The Golden Eaglets are defending champions, having clinched victory in the sub-regional final against Burkina Faso two years ago, also in Ghana.
The championship holds significant importance as it will serve as qualifiers for the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations, which in turn serves as qualifiers for the World Cup.
