God Did! Eguavoen Denies Lobbying for Super Eagles Job

Augustine Eguavoen has firmly denied any lobbying efforts to secure his recent appointment as the interim head coach of the Super Eagles.

In what marks his third spell with the Super Eagles, Eguavoen clarified his position during an interview with the team’s official channel.

He stated that his selection was a result of divine intervention rather than personal ambition.

“When a situation like this arises and you are called upon, you can’t refuse. It is a task I have performed before and falls within my responsibilities.

“The Federation’s leadership believes I can help, so I accepted. But let it be known: I did not ask for this; I did not lobby for this; I did not apply for this. It is God’s favour.”

The former Nigeria International, who also serves as the NFF Technical Director, previously failed to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
