76
KAA Gent forward Gift Orban has written his name in the history books as he scored the fastest hat-trick ever in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
The forward netted three goals in Gent’s 4-1 second-leg win against Istanbul Basaksehir on Wednesday night.
Orban only needed three minutes and twenty-five seconds to achieve the feat, just few days after scoring four goals against Zulte Waregem in the Belgian Pro League.
It was also the fastest hat-trick ever by a Belgian team and the fastest hat-trick in UEFA competitions.
The previous record for fastest hat-trick in European football was held by Mohammed Salah of Liverpool.
The Egyptian scored a hat-trick against Rangers in the Champions League. He did that in six minutes and twelve seconds.
Gift Orban now has 12 goals in 9 games since making his debut for the Buffalos.
