Nigerian forward, Gift Orban has opened up about his “strong” relationship with Olympique Lyon captain, Alexandre Lacazette.

The 22-year-old made a remarkable impact during Lyon’s thrilling 4-3 comeback victory over Strasbourg in a Ligue 1 match at the Groupama Stadium on Friday night.

The Super Eagles invitee scored twice after coming off the bench in his first appearance of the season for the club.

Orban’s goals were a significant relief, following a period of intense criticism due to his poor form last season.

Reflecting on his performance, Orban credited Lacazette for his support and guidance.

“He is an exemplary captain,” Orban shared in an interview with olympique-et-lyonnais.com.

“He has experience, so I watch him in training, and he talks to me to advise me so that I can give the best of myself.”

Orban joined Lyon from Belgian club KAA Gent in January, and was linked with several club during summer transfer window.

However his recent display suggests he is keen to make a strong impression this season.
