Gernot Rohr: Super Eagles can’t afford to underrate Sierra Leone

Super Eagles Chief Coach, Gernot Rohr is confident that his players have the experience and talent to beat Sierra Leone.

The three time African champions will tackle the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone in double-header qualifiers with the first leg billed for billed for November 13th in Benin, while the reverse fixture will hold in Freetown four days later.

Rohr said the boys have the experience to win both matches, but admitted they must treat both matches with like a final and give it their best shot.

“I have 23 fit players before the weekend matches and the boys have the quality and experience to win both games, but that is if they give the both games their best shot. We shall not underrate the Leone Stars as they are known, irrespective of the first leg result,” Rohr told Completesports.

“We want to win both legs and that means the boys must take the games very seriously like they always do to boost our qualification for AFCON. I don’t know much about Sierra Leone, but we shall work with little we have about them,” the German stated.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles camp has officially open today, Monday 9th of November and the boys are expected to start arriving the country from today.

Nigeria sits on top of their group with six points following their win over Squirrel of Benin Republic and Crocodiles of Lesotho.
