Former Genk’s assistant captain Thomas Buffel has advised John van den Brom to change his strategy, in order to help Paul Onuachu rediscover his form.
Onuachu has failed to scored a goal since netting the winner against Sint-Truiden last September.
With Onuachu facing a drought in front of goal, Genk have lost seven of their last eight games in all competitions, as pressure continues to build around the Club.
In an interview with HNB, Thomas Buffel , stated that the Coach has to rework his tactics and get the best out of his prize asset again.
“For this, coach, you can’t just stick to what went well in the past. If you then make different choices, you have to create clarity. Everyone has to be part of the story, the collective takes precedence over everything.”
“Even Paul Onuachu fell through the ice against AA Gent. These are physically tough months. He must try to bring back that good feeling in training. Give him some extra crosses, he must see that ball fly against the nets again”, Buffel concludes.
Onuachu and his mates will be hoping to bounce back when they take on Winkel Sports in Belgian Cup tie on Wednesday.
