Racing Genk is facing challenges in bringing back Paul Onuachu to the club due to the high asking price.
However, they are reportedly negotiating with Southampton for a potential exchange deal involving Joseph Paintsil and Onuachu.
Onuachu himself seems interested in returning to Genk less than a year after joining Southampton in a deal worth €18m.
The Genk’s director, Dimitri de Condé, acknowledges that the Onuachu transfer is complex and expensive, and they need to make the right decision.
Dimitri de Condé previously said that bringing in a striker is a priority, but that the Onuachu file is not simple.
“Paul is a player we follow, but not the only one. We should not be naive about this.
“That is not an easy, but a very expensive file. So we as a club have to see that we make the right choice in that.” He said.
Onuachu is popular at Genk after his excellent seasons with the club.
