Genk manager Wouter Vrancken blasts Arokodare, Sor for poor performance

Genk manager Wouter Vrancken was furious with Tolu Arokodare, Yira Sor, and their teammates following their unimpressive performance against Union Saint-Gilloise on Sunday.
Wouter Vrancken watched his side slump to a 3-0 defeat in the Championship playoff.
After trailing 1-0 at half-time, Vrancken introduced Arokodare and Sor for the second 45 minutes to help salvage the situation.
The duo however failed to make a significant impact as Union Saint-Gilloise added two further goals late on.
The defeat means Genk’s hope of winning the championship is becoming increasingly difficult.
“It seemed like boys against men all through the game.” He said after the game
“In top matches, you have to be there or you will be beaten, especially in the playoffs.
“The basic principles to start the match, such as eagerness and the will, were not there. That surprised me in a negative sense”, he continues.
“Still, we come out with the right spirit in the second half. After Union’s second, I still saw the will, but the third was too much.”
The Limburgers entered the play-off as winners of the regular season, but are now four points adrift of playoff leaders Royale Antwerp with two games to go. “We have now become the underdog,” says Vrancken.
“Now it will have to be three prizes to have a chance. This feeling of today must be taken along to prevent the same start of the competition”, he concluded.
Since joining the club in January as Paul Onuachu’s replacement, Arokodare has contributed just a goal in 8 league matches. Although he suffered an injury that lasted for six weeks.
Yira Sor on his part, has 2 goals in 17 matches.
