Napoli boss Gennaro Gattuso has heaped praises on Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, despite failing to score against Genoa on Sunday.
Osimhen started his first official game for Napoli in their 6 – 0 win over their visitors at the Stadio San Paolo and managed to assisted just one of the six goals scored.
Osimhen who also failed to score in the previous match against Parma played all the minutes and was yellow-carded in the 90th minutes.
Despite, not scoring a goal, Gattuso said Osimhen helping the team to create space for other players to scored.
“We were lacking a player like Osimhen who could attack the space, so again today he didn’t score, but he created the situations that allowed others to score.”
“His teammates are always seeking him out, so we’re very pleased with the way he is helping out,” he stated.
Napoli now has six points from two matches played so far.
