Atalanta boss, Gian Piero Gasperini insists Ademola Lookman must improve his rate to become a success in Serie A.

Lookman said last week that he had never worked so hard in training as he did with Gasperini, which seemed to surprise the coach.

The Nigerian player then showcased his dedication by delivering a standout performance, scoring twice against Milan in Bergamo on Saturday.

“He never did anything, then! Lookman cannot play every game like tonight, or he’d be amazing, but he is doing very well this season,” Gasparini told reporters in his post match conference.

“He has some dips and troughs, but that is normal. What he must learn from this group is to share the same spirit, determination and realise when it’s not your day, then you have to work for the team.”

Gasperini also praised the striker for his fantastic efforts in the 3-2 win over visiting AC Milan.

Lookman scored in both halves to take his tally to six in the Italian topflight league this season.
