Sevilla manager, García Pimienta expressed his satisfaction with Kelechi Iheanacho’s performance after the Nigerian forward broke his goal drought.
Iheanacho’s brace helped the La Liga side secure a 3-0 victory over La Rozas FC in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday night.
Pimienta praised the striker’s performance, and the impact of his work on the field.
“He played very little in the first half, and in the second he had the success that is needed for forwards,” Pimienta shared on the club’s official website.
Iheanacho last scored a goal in club football in August 2023, for Leicester City in a League Cup game against Burton Albion.
While the forward is yet to register his La Liga goal account, Pimienta is confident the Summer signing will find his scoring boots soon.
“He’s been training well; he played the full 90 minutes, and we’re pleased with his brace. We’ll continue working to improve.”
