Terem Moffi endured a frustrating start to this season’s French Ligue one as he fired blank again on Sunday.
The Nigeria international made his second appearance in the three-week old Ligue 1 season for Lorient against Toulouse.
Armand Lauriente gave Lorient the lead on two minutes, but Rafael Ratao restored parity for Toulouse in the 31st minute.
Toulouse then went 2-1 up in the 64th minute through Thijs Dalinga.
Moffi, however, was handed a golden opportunity to open his account for the season from the penalty spot, but failed to beat the goalkeeper.
Shortly after his penalty miss, Moffi was substituted and replaced by Malian forward Ibrahim Kone in the 68th minute of the encounter.
The substitution proved to be the right one as Ibrahim Kone scored a late penalty to save Lorient from suffering another defeat.
Meanwhile, Moffi’s compatriot Innocent Bonke didn’t taste action as he sat on the bench throughout.
Bonke has only featured once for Lorient at the ongoing campaign.
