Super Eagles midfielder, Frank Onyeka spoke to Brila.net about the start of the new campaign with Brentford.
The midfielder discussed working under Keith Andrews, as well as other club matters including player departures.
“It’s good because when I was in Germany, he was in Brentford, but coming back and speaking to him was great. It was good that we had that conversation along with the rest of the staff. It was a big change, seeing new coaches and medical staff, but it also felt good to be back,” Onyeka said.
He also reflected on the departure of key teammates
“A whole lot of my teammates have left the club—talking about Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa. How do I feel? I joke with them, saying, ‘What are you doing? You left me here and you’re going away.’ At the same time, I’m happy for them. I will definitely miss them, especially my really close guy, Wissa.”

On his goals for the campaign, Onyeka shared: “Trying to help the team finish well.”
Onyeka joined Brentford in 2021 from FC Midtjylland but spent last season on loan at FC Augsburg.
He has made 82 appearances for the Premier League side and earned 32 caps for the Nigerian national team.
The 27-year-old operates primarily as a central midfielder but is equally comfortable in a defensive role when required.
