Francisca Ordega is a name synonymous with scoring crucial goals and the Nigerian striker delivered for Washington Spirit at the weekend against Portland Thorns in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).

Ordega’s goal earned the Spirits a point against the NWSL defending Champions and also realistic shot at a playoff spot.

The striker scored her second goal of the season; climbing to seventh in the top scorers chart.

Spirit are fifth in the table but are just two points outside the top four.

The Maryland based club will host second placed Chicago Red Stars on Sunday at the Maryland SoccerPlex, where a win could propel them to third in the table.
