Former Olympique de Marseille president Pape Diouf died of coronavirus contamination. According to AFP, a family source confirmed the information, which was also provided by Senegal’s RTS channel.

Diouf, 68, was hospitalized in Dakar with respiratory problems. He was to be transferred to Nice on a medical plane, but his health prevented the flight.

 

Former journalist and players’ agent, Diouf chaired the French club between 2005 and 2009. He served on the coaching staff that led the club to the French championship title in 2010, after 17 years in line.
