Former D’Tigers captain Olumide Oyedeji has blasted the NBBF in communication with FIBA over the way home-based players are continuously been sidelined in the Nigeria men basketball national team.
Oyedeji speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said the home-based players should have been given a large representation in the team much more than the two slots which was given as late replacements for the foreign duo of Ike Nwamu and Christopher Obekpa who would be missing due to new changes in clubs engagement and settling down with their new clubs.
Oyedeji said the home-based players are the ones that suffers this kind of treatment and rub them off the real chance to make an impression which would have even been good enough to reassess the home-based team which would be used to prosecute the All Africa Games basketball event later this year.
