Former Coach Chukwu happy with Eagles win over Bafana Bafana

Former Super Eagles defender and coach, Christian Chukwu has revealed that he remains happy with the confidence displayed by the Eagles after they booked their semi-final ticket at the ongoing AFCON 2019 tournament in Egypt.

The triumph at the Cairo International Stadium means the Super Eagles have qualified in nine of their 10 quarter-final appearances at the Afcon finals.

Nigeria will meet the winner of Thursday’s clash between Algeria and Ivory Coast in the semi-final but the former member of the technical committee of the NFF also added that he remains happy with the wing play of the Eagles, while also hoping they mark well, especially in the midfield.

“They are having confidence and are playing like a team now, so I look forward to the semis. No easy team for them at this stage but I believe and look forward to them achieving their aim”.

“They should take their chances and achieve their aim, let them make sure they finish well in the attack. I like the way they are using the wings, and then from the wings, we get all our goals”.

“Then we should make sure we mark well, especially in the midfield. On a whole, they are doing well”.
