Manchester United defender Luke Shaw says former Nigerian winger Victor Moses is the toughest opponent he ever faced in his career.
Shaw who joined Manchester United from Southampton has played against the best wingers in the world, including Lionel Messi, Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale, but he insisted that Moses was the one who gave him a difficult game.
“People always think I’m joking, but one of my hardest games ever was against Victor Moses when I was coming in as a 17-year-old at Southampton,” Shaw said on United’s official website.
“Maybe because I was so young. He was really quick, direct, strong and that was a challenge for me.
“I’ve played against the likes of Gareth Bale, Messi and [Eden] Hazard, and they were all so good, but I always remember Victor Moses as a really tough opponent as well.” He Manchester United official website.
Moses who is currently on loan at Inter Milan joined Chelsea in 2012 from Wigan Athletics after the Latics was relegated.
The 2013 African cup of Nations winner is one of Chelsea’sstandout performers under Antonio Conte during their 2016/17 title-winning season.
