Folashade Ijamilusi is over the moon after her performance in Nigeria’s recent friendly matches against Algeria.
Ijamilusi scored a hat-trick in the second leg of the friendly match, as the Super Falcons won back-to-back victories.
The Edo Queens forward opened the scoring in the 12th minute and doubled Nigeria’s lead just seven minutes later.
She capped off her outstanding performance with a third goal in the 86th minute, marking her first career hat-trick with the Super Falcons.
Gift Monday scored the third goal and fourth of the match, rounding off the 4-1 win.
Feeling fulfilled of her achievement, Ijamilusi shared her excitement with Brila.net.
“I feel so good for scoring the three goals. All thanks to God and also to the coaches that gave me the privilege and to my wonderful teammates for their effort. I’m so grateful to them.”
Ijamilusi also mentioned a key moment during the match when captain Rasheedat Ajibade encouraged her to take the opportunity.
“Rasheedat Ajibade told me that they want to go for her, that I should take it, and then I used the opportunity.”
Her hat-trick is a milestone in her career as this is her debut call-up to Super Falcons squad.
