Flying Eagles to face Argentina or USA in World Cup Round of 16

The Flying Eagles suffered their first defeat of FIFA U20 World cup campaign, on Saturday.

After winning their first two games, Ladan Bosso’s side were beaten 2-0 by defending Champions, Brazil in their final Group game at Estadio Ciudad da La Plata.

 

 

Flying Eagles started the match on a front foot, and were unlucky not to take the lead within opening ten minutes when Jude Sunday’s fine volley struck the bar.

Brazil grew into the game and took the lead against the run of play, through Jean Pedroso.

Marquinhos put the game beyond the Flying Eagles, with Brazil’s second goal two minutes of first half added time.

There was no further goal in the second half, and Brazil finished as the Group winners.

Nigeria finished 3rd and will face either USA or hosts Argentina in the second round.
