Nigerian Legend Emmanuel Amunike has highlighted key areas the Nigeria U-20 team, the Flying Eagles need to work on following the goalless draw played against the Amajita of South Africa in the second group game of the 2019 U-20 tourney.
In an exclusive chat with brila.net, Amunike noted that the Paul Aigbogun led team is blessed with players who possess quality individual abilities however, they have to be more tactical when not in possession of the ball.
He equally noted that there was frequent communication gap between the attack and the midfield but these are areas that could easily be fixed.
“The Nigerian team has players whoare good individually but collectively they need to improve when they are not with the ball.
There is always a gap between the midfield and the attack and this should be checked because if they meet a very technical team, they might be seriously punished”, he wrapped up.
Nigeria on four points, will now face host nation Niger Republic in the final group game.
Anunike is a Member of the Confederation of African Football(CAF) technical study group at the ongoing African U-20 Cup of Nations in Niger Republic.
