Nigeria’s Flying Eagles are into the last eight of 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup, beating hosts Argentina.
The Flying on Wednesday shocked the hosts and favorites, Argentina 2-0 in the round of 16 encounter in the round of 16 tie on Wednesday in San Juan.
Argentina reached the last 16 with 100% record from the Group phase, while Flying Eagles finished third in their Group, qualifying as one of the best losers.
Second half goals from Ibrahim Muhammad and Rilwanu Haliru Sarki secure shock win for the Flying Eagles after the first half had ended without a goal.
It was a sweet revenge for the Flying Eagles who lost 2005 final to the young Albaceste.
They will now face South Korea or Ecuador in the next round.
