Former Nigeria U-20 international, Flourish Sabastine opened her goal-scoring account for Galatasaray Women in their 1-1 draw against Trabzonspor in the Turkish Women’s Super Lig on Sunday.
The ex-Stade de Reims forward put Galatasaray ahead in the third minute, marking her first-ever goal for the club since joining.
However, Fatlinda Ramaj equalized for Trabzonspor 10 minutes into the second half, ensuring both teams shared the points.
Sabastine’s Career Path
Sabastine was a key player for Bayelsa Queens in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership before moving to France, where she featured for Stade de Reims.
She also played for Nigeria’s U-20 team, notably at the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Galatasaray’s Struggles in Title Defense
Defending Turkish Women’s Super Lig champions, Galatasaray, have endured a difficult title defense this season.
The club sits in sixth place with 30 points after 16 games, trailing league leaders Fenerbahce by 12 points.
They also lag behind Fomget GSK, ALG Spor, Besiktas, and Trabzonspor in the standings.
