Nigeria Women’s U17 football team, the Flamingos, has commenced a two-week training camp in Santo Domingo as they prepare for their FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Coach Bankole Olowookere announced the squad on Monday, with all 21 players departing the country for the training camp on Tuesday.
During their time in Santo Domingo, the team will focus on refining their strategies in anticipation of the tournament, which is set to run from October 16 to November 3, 2024.
The Flamingos previously secured third place in the last edition of the tournament, held in India, and they are aiming to improve their performance in this year’s competition.
Nigeria has been drawn into Group A alongside host nation Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and New Zealand.
