Flamingoes Coach Olowookere declares unfinished with Egypt

Ahead of his side’s second-leg FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers against Egypt, Flamingoes Coach Bankole Olowookere, has assured the team will leave no stone unturned.

The Flamingoes boosted their chances of a relatively comfortable second leg with a convincing 4-0 win against Egypt at the Moshood Abiola Stadium on Sunday.

A brace from Omowunmi Bello and a goal each from Opeyemi Ajakaiye and Miracle Usani secured the comfortable first leg win.

Ajakaye netted the opener in the 28th before Bello added the second in the 38th minute.

It became 3-0 in the 54th minute through Usani, before a delightful chip in the 62nd minute by Bello, for her second, wrapped up the goals on the day.

Speaking ahead of the return leg, Olowookere said :

” They came to sit back and wanted to frustrate our efforts, so that’s why we took the game to them and managed to break them.

” I’m not the kind of coach that boast before a game, like they said they’ll beat us 3-0 here, but ended up losing 4-0 here . We’ll work hard cos we still have many loopholes to work on.”

The Flamingoes need at least a draw in Cairo to advance to the final round of the qualifiers.
