Finidi George has announced his departure from his role as Enyimba’s head coach.
Announced Saturday, this decision comes as Finidi assumes his recent appointment as head coach of the Super Eagles.
The 53-year-old will now shift his focus entirely to his responsibilities with the national team.
Olanrewaju Yemi, his assistant, is set to take over as interim head coach for the remainder of the season.
During his tenure with Enyimba, Finidi George led the team to remarkable achievements, including clinching their ninth NPFL title last season.
He also steered the club through the CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup campaigns over the past three seasons.
Despite Enyimba’s current standing as third in the league table, with a recent two-point deduction, the club is expected to make an official statement regarding Finidi’s departure in the near future.
